Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva

 

27 Dec: This was year 2007, March when the disciples of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Ballabh Tirtha Goswami Maharaj assembled at one site, coming from all the corners of the world. They gathered to celebrate the appearance day of Srila Gurumaharaj at Goalpara, Assam, the very appearance place of Srila Gurudeva.

 

Srila Guru Maharaj blessed His devotees by His divine darshan and later with divine Hari-Katha. Everybody was mesmerized. Everybody wanted to get themselves as near to Gurudeva as possible, to catch the glimpse of His Lotus Feet, to shower fresh flower petals unto His Feet, and so on. What a wonderful occasion this was?

 

Let’s go back for some time, into history. The history of this very site, where Srila Gurudeva is blessing His disciples.

 

In the year 1931, none other but His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur visited and spoke Harikatha at this same site, which is only about 300 meters away from the family house of Srila Gurudeva. Gurudeva’s mother then took Srila Gurudeva to listen to Harikatha and to pay obeisances to Srila Bhakti Siddhanda Saraswati Thakur. Srila Gurudeva was only 7 years old then.

 

If that was not enough, then during 1944, it was this place only where Srila Gurudeva met His Gurudeva His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Dayita Madhav Goswami Maharaj for the first time.

   

It would be hard to find such a place on earth where three generations of divinity visited and performed such pastimes.

   

The site is none other but ‘Hari Sabha’ at Goalpara, Assam, India.
