Grace of Saints

-Srila Gurudeva

12 June: Saint Tulasi Dasa said, "binu Hari kripa milahin nahin santa." It's opposite is also true that, "bina santa kripa milahin nahin Hari." i.e. by Lord's grace one can get association of saints and only by grace of saints one can get the Lord. Both are interdependent.

Dhruva's mother, though not any formal saint, had advised Dhruva to call out Lord's Names with complete faith. (One who shows the path can also be Guru, however he may not be the tattvika or shrotriya brahmanistha guru.) Dhruva started calling out for Lord with faith and as a result, he got a sadhu, Narada Goswami. Narada Goswami gave him sacred mantra and taught him the process of devotion. By following that process Dhurva achieved Supreme Lord and just in a short duration. So the principle is, "First one gets a pure devotee-Guru by the mercy of Sri Hari; and than one gets Sri Hari by the mercy of such guru."
